Memorial candles, novena candles and annual lights for grave lanterns
Memorial candles, novena candles and annual lights are probably the most popular way to add decoration to the grave. Fire has symbolised love, light and warmth for centuries. An added advantage is that these candles do not drip, leaving the monument untouched. The candles are available in red and white.
The annual lights are available in different shapes and are great for placing on the grave as a grave decoration in a grave lantern. They will be blinking for at least one year. The annual lights are water-resistant and do not contain any candle wax. Therefore, the annual lights cannot drip candle wax on the gravestone. One of the most commonly used lights is the flashing annual light with yellow/white light.
The novena candle is often used during vigils. It is also suitable for placing on the grave. These candles are red and burn for about 2 to 3 days.
